மாசி மகம் - திருநின்றவூர் திவ்ய தேசம் -2010

Yesterday was the Auspicious day in the month of Magam. Pournami along with Maasi Magam. It was good that this came on a Sunday.

Along with my wife and Kids at home, i started to Thirunindravur Divya Desam. Sri Bakthavatsalan of Thirunindravur comes in Garuda Vahanam and Bala Perumal goes for Theerthavaari at the Thirunindravur Lake, behind the Ramar Temple.

In a Year Bakthavatsala Perumal showers his blessings on Garuda Seva on 3 different occasions.
  • பங்குனி பிரமோற்சவம் at 05:30 am
  • தை ரதசப்தமி at 10.30 am
  • மாசி மகம் at 08:00 am
On the day of Maasi Magam, perumal starts in the morning on goes into the Periya Veedhi. He stops at Erikatha Ramar Temple for Theerthavaari. I was under the impression that Theerthavaari would happen at 10 am and was late to the Sevai. Fortunately I reached the ramar temple, when they were distributing Theertham and Satari. We then went to the Thirunindravur Lake, dipped our feets into the water.

After Theertham and Satari, Bala perumal goes into the Main temple. Bakthavatsala Perumal then completes his routine route and returns back to the temple.

Thirunindravur on Deepavali

Yesterday I had been to Thirunindravur Divya Desam. We reached the temple exactly at 06:00 PM and perumal was ready for purappadu. Utsavam for Manavala Mamunigal was going on. Perumal with Thaayar was ready for the purappadu. Mamunigal started first and was waiting near the temple's entrance, once perumal started he reached the sannathi of Siriya Thiruvadi. Once Perumal came out of the entrance he was invited with crackers. Then Perumal went near the Siriya Thiruvadi's temple and gave mariyadhai to him. Then the sadari was given to Manavala Mamunigal. Then to the Ghosti. It was a beautiful purappadu. Perumal was invited with crackers on the four madaveedi's.

Thirumangai Alwar's Mangalasasanam

Thirumangai Alwar has sung in praise of Bakthavatsala Perumal.
There is an interesting story behind the mangalasasanam to this perumal. When Thirumangai Mannan came to visit, perumal was busy with Thaayar and didn't notice him. Seeing this Thirumangai Mannan returned back to Thirukadal Mallai. Perumal was asked by Thaayar to go and get a song in praise of him from Thirumangai Mannan. So did our perumal and got two songs on him at Thirukadal Mallai.
Following is one of the song sung by Thirumangai Alwar
"Poondavattham Pirar Kadainndhu Thondupattu
Poynnnnoolai Meynnoolen Renrumodhi
Maandu Avattham Pogaadhe Vamminenndhai
Envanangkap Paduvaanai Kanangkaletthum
Neendavatthaik Karu Mugilai Emmaanrannai
Ninravoor Nitthilatthaith Thotthar Solai
Kaandavatthaik Kanalerivaay Peyvitthaanaik
Kandadhunnaan Kadalmallaith Thalasayanatthe!"
